What it is and How it Works
The Armour Sports Bar is a purpose-built BYD Shark 6 sports bar that mounts directly to the HSP Roll R Cover system. It forms part of a modular rear accessory platform. It also features a full alloy, weld-free construction that stays strong while remaining virtually iron-free, meaning no rust in wet or coastal environments.
A centre-curve extension runs along the centreline to create a dedicated mounting point for LED light bars, aerials, and other accessories. Unlike traditional tubular sports bars, the Armour Bar maintains the Shark 6’s original roofline for a sleek, low-profile design.
Non-reflective matte black powder coating reduces glare and improves driver safety. Geomet-coated bolts provide up to 1,000 hours of salt spray resistance.
Fitment of the BYD Shark Sports Bar
The Armour Sports Bar suits the BYD Shark 6 2024+ and is compatible only with the HSP Roll R Cover (BSH4RS3.5-AB variant). It cannot be installed directly on the tub.
Buyers with an existing Roll R Cover (BSH4RS3.5 variant) must use an adaptor kit to fit the Armour Bar. The cover may need to be removed and reinstalled by an authorised HSP stockist for correct alignment and structural integrity.

Quick and Simple Maintenance Guidelines
Minimal maintenance is required for the powder-coated alloy bar; just wipe the BYD Shark 6 sports bar with a damp cloth and mild soap as needed.
Hardware bolts feature a Geomet coating for long-term corrosion resistance. Occasional exposure may reveal the silver base layer of the bolts, which is normal and won’t affect structural integrity. Inspect mounting points periodically – especially after off-road use – and rinse with fresh water in coastal or high-salt environments.
