The Ultimate HiLux Build

In this exciting new series, we’re taking a brand-new 2026 SR5 N90 Toyota HiLux and transforming it into what we believe could become Australia’s ultimate touring and 4WD build.

The Starting Point: N90 Toyota HiLux SR5

Every great build starts with the right base, and for this project we chose the N90 Toyota HiLux SR5: one of the most popular dual-cab utes on Australian roads and the perfect canvas for a full accessory build. Straight off the showroom floor, the SR5 gives us a strong factory foundation: solid load capacity, a well-proven drivetrain, and a tub shape that suits the full range of HSP Toyota HiLux accessories and other accessories we’re fitting throughout this series.

What's The Plan?

When we say we’re building Australia’s ultimate adventure and touring vehicle, we mean it.

Our goal is to transform this N90 HiLux into the complete package, fitted from front to back with the best accessories the industry has to offer. From premium bull bars and suspension to tyres, lighting, and every detail in between, no corner will be overlooked.

At the heart of the build is our 100% Australian-manufactured roll top, forming the foundation of a purpose-built tub setup that’s designed to handle everything from weekend escapes to serious off-road expeditions.

EP1: Where It All Begins

In this episode we introduce the project vehicle — a brand-new 2026 Toyota HiLux SR5 — and reveal the vision behind the build, giving a first look at what’s coming throughout the series and the first steps toward creating Australia’s ultimate touring and 4WD ute.

Note: while we go through this process and build out the vehicle, we didn’t want to leave the tub unsecured from theft and the weather, so in the meantime we’ve secured it with the HSP electric roller cover

EP2: Wheels & Tyres

For Episode 2, we’re focusing on the rolling stock: new wheels and tyres that completely transform the way this N90 HiLux looks, sits and performs.

We break down why wheel and tyre choice makes or breaks a build, walk through the full fitment process, and show exactly what these upgrades mean for performance, durability and looks — both on the black top and out in the bush. This episode, the HSP Vehicle Accessories HiLux is fitted out with ROH Zullo wheels and Predator X-AT tyres, giving the ute the stance, strength and grip it needs to tackle real Australian off-road terrain.
